|Dear customers and friends,
this time our newsletter “ImProfil” will be a little different to what you are used to. We are mainly going to focus on the last Krah Community Meeting in Tuscany, Italy. The KCM is getting more and more popular among our customers, employees and potential customers.
We already could welcome a new member from the Philippines in the Krah community this year: Krah Pipes Manila Inc., represented by Nobukazu Kotake. He used the opportunity to get to know other members of KCM and to get more information about their experiences with the Krah pipe production. Krah Pipes Manila was now also presenting their product range for the first time at the "Innovation in Infrastructure Congress" at the 24th November in Manila.
One of the biggest highlights during the KCM was obviously the presence of Carlo Avanzini and his presentation about marine projects.
Carlo Avanzini is a huge specialist when it comes to installation, design and calculation of large sea outfall and intake pipes, was a big honour for us. In his presentation he explained the historical development of sea outfall pipes made of polyethylene and the associated chances and risks. With his presentation he made it possible for all of the international attendants to get their hands on this subject and to exchange ideas and suggestions (download full presentation)
Another special guest was Bernhard Läufle, who is an external German specialist on the field of geothermal energy and warmth from sewage. He introduced the technique of drain water heat recovery. In an interesting presentation he gave the community an understanding of how much energy could be saved with the installation of a heat exchanger on every Krah sewage pipe. (read more about waste water heat recovery)
Furthermore, Krah presented its complete program of plastic welding machines for joining Krah pipes and fabrication of manholes and fittings. The demonstration of the new electro-fusion machines convinced all attendants technically and economically (read more about Krah E-Box 44). Also the easy handling of Krah hand welding extruders impressed everybody.
Last but not least, Krah presented together with Henze the HAS fitting system with which branches in profiled and solid-wall pipes can be joined. Worldwide, no other system provides comparable efficiency. (read more about the HAS-System)
Another topic of the meeting were different software solutions around pipe production and application. Christopher Kirchhöfer and Alexander Krah presented the newest edition of Pontis. Pontis is a software that allows you to monitor and analyse your Krah machine from everywhere you are. It doesn’t show you data or screenshots, it moreover shows you the direct problem so you can immediately intervene. You don’t even have to be in the company, it works from everywhere where you have internet, even from your smartphone (read more about Pontis).
Stephan Füllgrabe from Plaspitec presented the software ‘PROFITank’ for technical design and calculation of thermoplastic tanks. PROFITank convinces with user-friendly usage and the possibility to create a static proof for nearly every operation condition a multitude of load cases like wind, temperature, weathering, chemical load, assemblies, earthquake, can be considered. (read more about PROFITank)
But we did not only come together for the business part. We didn’t miss out on having fun and an amazing time together. When so many international specialists and experts come together it’s always great pleasure to do things ‘out of the business’, to get a personal insight and to just get to know each other a little bit better, which is also important in doing business.
So we used the opportunity to build up new contacts and to strengthen already existing ones
during the time we had together.
A special thank you also to our host, CENTRALTUBI.
CENTRALTUBI, who has been successfully working with Krah pipe production for several years, is one of the leading companies of the Italian SYSTEM GROUP. SYSTEM GROUP provides a full production range and solutions for the construction of underground networks for conveying fluids and for the passage of cables. Thanks to the local presence of numerous companies of the SYSTEM GROUP, various visits to companies and their production sites were conducted in addition to the meetings.
The production sites of the companies Centraltubi, Italiana Corrugati, Futura, PEBO, Sab, Rototec were visited and all visitors could take vision of the organization and the possibilities for good collaborations. Read more about Centraltubi, one of the leaders in the polyethylene pipe market, and about PEBO and their product range of polyethylene resins and special compounds for the pipe and fitting market. You will find further information of the System Group at www.tubi.net
Obviously there were a lot more interesting topics, presentations and themes but it would simply take too long to name all of them in this introduction. Nevertheless, there are three important things left I want to point out:
With the new Krah design there will be new marketing articles available which can be drawn from us from January 2016 on.
These brochures can either be downloaded on our website or, if requested, ordered in paper form from our company.
Now where we gave you a little flashback to this great experience we want to make you excited for the next meeting. The next Krah Community Meeting will take place during the next K trade fair from the 19.-26. October 2016 in Düsseldorf.
After all this information I now wish you lots of fun while reading our technical articles, presentations and revisions and hopefully the year 2016 will be even more successful for you than this year!
