The Pipe and Profile Extrusion magazine wrote an article about our pipe production.
Here is an excerpt of the text:
It may seem like a case of sheer brute force, but the technology needed to produce large pipe – often more than 2m in diameter – requires sophistication and close control. After all, even a small increase in pipe wall thickness will mean a lot of material is being given away.
Krah Advanced Technologies (KAT) has recently developed new technology to produce large diameter pipes. It says that the equipment can be used to make structured wall pipes and solid wall pipes at high output – but without sagging problems or frozen stresses.
The company says that its KR800-Max production line has been used to make 1,000mm internal diameter SN8 pipe, at an output of 1,300kg/hour – including co-extruded inner layer with electrofusion and spigot.
Also, it was used to make 2,000mm, SDR11 pipe – for pressure or outfall applications – at an output of 1,400kg/hour.
The same machine has been able to extrude a pipe DN/ID2000mm, SDR11, for pressure or outfall application.
Also the solid wall had no frozen stresses and no sagging...

From May 2017 on the Krah Group is able to produce machines which can fabricate a maximum pipe diameter of 5000mm.
For this purpose new machines were purchased and the infrastructure of the company building was changed accordingly.
The reason for these investments were several specific enquiries for polyethylene pipes DN/ID5000mm.
From the 27th to the 30th March the “Big 5 Saudi” exhibition took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Due to the pipe samples in different sizes, with different profiles and fittings it was easy to show how Krah works and which advantages it implicates.
New General Manager of KAT
Since December 2016 Thomas Bednorz has been the new General Manager of the KAT GmbH. Mr. Bednorz has been in the company since his apprenticeship and understands how Krah works.
He did an apprenticeship as industrial clerk at Krah from 2005 to 2008. He then started working at Krah and studied business administration at a local university.
At the age of 29 he then took over the managament of KAT and is since then successfully leading the company. For his previous colleagues it hasn’t been a big conversion because they have known him for a long time already and get on with him very well.
He was happy to accept the new job and is looking forward to meet any challenges that he might encounter in his position as General Manager. His colleagues know him as funny and loyal guy who is always up for a laugh.
Krah Group sold shares in HENZE GmbH
The KHB GmbH (Holding and trading company in the Krah Group) sold their majority stakes in the company HENZE (Henze GmbH Kunststoffwerk, Josef-Kitz-Str. 9, 53840 Troisdorf, www.henze-gmbh.de) with immediate effect. After Mr. Alexander Krah exited the managing board already in October last year, the chapter Henze pipe production has been ended completely in February 2017. All shares were sold. Sole managing director is Mr. Wolfgang Fester.
However, shares in the Henze Technology GmbH were increased to 76% to raise the influence of HENZE on the world market of production technology. This underlying transaction is the production and distribution of the global HENZE production technology.
We wish Mr. Fester all the best for the pipe production in the future.
